A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to record an interview with Marc Bailey, CIO of Macquarie University.

Marc first came to my attention with this post on the blog in 2011, who challenged Apple to take more seriously the enterprise and education markets, or abandon them for good. I started following Marc on twitter and enjoyed his geeky enthusiasm for all things Apple, the cloud, and technology in General.

Marc has had an incredible 28 months as CIO at Macquarie University, with the goal of turning it into "digital campus number one on the planet". The University was one of the first major institutions in Australia to switch to Google Apps, 66,000 students moving and personal email account to 6000 cloud.

Marc and lament the passing of Xserves and Apple to old, discuss some of the bumps for the technical and legal on the road to the cloud and he boils down and it management simpler ideas-identity, bandwidth and encryption. Not only that, Marc gives some tips for young geeks out there where they should focus their energy and skill in the world constantly changes it.
